Former Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda has joined Turkish side Trabzonspor, the club have confirmed.

The Super Lig outfit announced the deal on their official website, with the France international signing a two-year deal.

Malouda spent six years at Stamford Bridge, making over 200 appearances, scoring 35 goals for the Blues as he helped them to one league title, three FA Cups and a Champions League trophy during six years spent at Stamford Bridge.

Malouda has made 84 international appearances for the French national team and was a key player during Olympique Lyon's reign in Ligue 1 from 2003 to 2007.

The Midfielder had previously been linked with a move to Brazil, something which he admitted he would be keen on, but he has chosen Turkey as his next destination despite interest from a number of other European teams.

Napoli and Olympiakos had both been reported to be eyeing up Malouda's signature as well as Marseille, who would have offered him a return to Ligue 1 where he began his career.

We Make Footballers Academy would like to congratulate Malouda on his move to turkey and wish him all the best.
