Our Redhill Football Coaches Roles and Responsibilities

We Make Footballers
19 December 2022

At We Make Footballers Redhill, our coaches do more than just what you see in the session. From planning the session, analysing how it went afterwards to giving feedback to continuously improve, it is a role which comes with many different responsibilities. The preparation begins well before players even get to the session to ensure that no minute is wasted once they come through the door.

In terms of session format, our football training in Redhill starts with a 10 minute warm up focused on skills. Following this, there are two practices based on a specific topic, for example, decision making, passing and receiving etc. For the last 30 minutes, we then go into matches starting with 1v1s and then progressing to 3v3s. Variety is key and so no two sessions are the same because of all of the different session plans, progressions and challenges implemented.

Coaches offer feedback during the session to guide players as they are in the session to improve. Often, this can be the most rewarding part of the job. This tailored feedback for example, improving a player’s weaker foot or their first touch and then seeing them find success practicing this within the session, means the coach has achieved their primary responsibility - developing a player.

Every We Make Footballers Redhill coach undergoes in-house training with specialist company qualifications, offering the highest level of teaching for coaches to maximise both their own and their players’ potential.
