After a difficult year for parents, players and coaches we are excited to announce that we will finally be resuming weekly sessions at our Kingston Academy this December!
Football is the heartbeat of the UK with grassroots, academies, clubs and weekly classes creating fantastic memories for all involved.
Coming back to football after this difficult season involving COVID has been a long journey. Safety has always been a key value of We Make Footballers and it is a core focus for our coaching team, sessions, venues and everyone involved.
The coaching staff and management team have been working closely with facilities managers at Tiffin School for Girls in Kingston to ensure that weekly sessions are delivered to the safest standard. In addition to COVID protocols used in sessions, the venue has made attending weekly football classes as safe as possible. This includes the installation of track and trace check-points through the school, a one-way entry and exit system and risk assessments for all sports or clubs that run at the venue.
The school has also provided hand-sanitiser at the entrances (and exits) which all players, parents and coaching staff use starting class. Parents will also notice the entry doors and separate exit doors of the sports hall ensuring there is no crossover of the different age groups attending class.
In addition to all the hard work from Tiffin school and the venue managers, they are ensuring that the sports halls are areas used at our Kingston Academy are being cleaned regularly. With masks and face-covering being a requirement for all on school premises also being imposed.
Over the last few months, our coaching staff have received new training regarding safety standards which must be followed at the sessions. The team have been working hard to ensure that our football is as safe as possible.
Equipment is being cleaned regularly and disinfected to reduce the risk.
The FA (Football Association) and local FAs are releasing regular updates and requirements for youth football which WMF are keeping up to date with on an ongoing basis.
We are so grateful for the return to football and being able to help every player become the best they can be! These measures have allowed us to get back to training and welcome children back to class - however, we believe in continuous improvement and will be following ongoing governmental and FA safety standards.
